Contest

Well messed up again. Sorry!
August contest is for posting on the blog.
You get one ticket for each posts on this blog.
I also need ideas of things you would like more info on. I can post them on the blog and then show them at the class or feature them on pages. So what would you like to learn.
Septembers contest will have to do with sketches again.

Sorry about the NSBR post and Random info

Didn't think that the last post was not scrapbook related.
Now a little update.
Random Musings for today.

For some reason I cannot get my card readers to work on my laptop. So I have been unable to download the photos of the pages that were entered in the contest. I will get this done sometime before the next class:).
Look for the Sketches for next months class to be posted by the end of the first week of July.
Please think about doing pages with your view of the sketches. I have not decided what the contest will be for August but you will be a winner by doing the sketches. YOU WILL HAVE FINISHED PAGES!
I will announce the contest the first week in July when the sketches are released.
Don't forget to figure out your childs favorite color or colors and bring a 12x12 cardstock of that to class this month.
August Soup will be a summer vegetable.
I am going to assign people to bring snack items, and will post that closer to time of class.

Simple Scrapbooks

We talked at class about some of the scrapbook companies that are going defunct. Simple Scrapbooks is no longer publishing and I think is a great loss to the scrapbook community.
Some of you asked how I know this things, well I did subscribe to Simple Scrapbooks and also to Digital Scrapbooking (also no longer being published), but if you read any of the Scrapbook Communites bulletin boards it is being discussed everywhere. How much we are losing and whose fault is it.
Two peas in a bucket (general scrapbooking) message board is a great place to get information.
There again you have to use common sense and not beleive everything you read.
Now the real reason for my post, I know several of you love Becky Higgins and Simple Scrapbooks, and many of the employees of Simple Scrapbooks have started a web site. I thought you might like to check out. So that is the reason for this post, to give you the URL to check out this site
Lots of words for such a simple task. Check out:

Hope you find it worth it.

Class Sunday

Just a reminder that class is this Sunday. Hope to see you there. Please be kind and if you are not coming let me know as soon as possible.

Our soup this month will be Creamy Wild Rice.

We will be doing 3 two page layouts.

You need to bring 4 pieces of white cardstock 12x12
One 12x12 of each of your school colors. (school colors vary so much and also vary from class to class) I want to be sure that what I consider your school colors and what you consider them are the same.
You need to bring an ink pad that you like to distress edges. I use fluid chalk cats eye, creamy brown and chestnut roan.

We will be using eyelet tools, bring your favorite or any you wish to learn to use.
We will be using the corner rounder both to make scallops and to round corners.
We will be using decorative scissors.

I will let you know if I come up with anything else.
Hugs,
Deb

Pages, Pages, Pages

The pages we are making for class should be able to document your childs years quickly so you have an album for their senior year. We do several pages that have to do with babys, elementary and middle school, and then do the rest of the pages doing the senior year.
Many of you do not have seniors or near senior kids, so I need to know how many of you need the senior class pages.
Most of the pages even though they have a title do not have to be used for the titles please keep this in mind. The baby page we did, just take the title off and replace with a title of your choice, it would work for any title. the page with Sabrina on it has her prom picture, but I am using it for the first page in Davids book, for his title page.
But some of the senior class pages are senior specific, or school specific. So let me know what you think.
Please post your thoughts.
