Computers

I know many of you are having problems with your computers. A computer is just like most of our appliances we have in our households.
You have to tell a computer what to do. Just like you tell your microwave to warm your water for tea or coffee, you must tell the computer you want to get on the internet, make a title or whatever you want it to do. You need to learn how to tell the computer what to do. Then you must practice tell it what to do. You also need to do maintance on your computer. Would you use a toaster that hadn't been cleaned out for two years. Not doing maintance can cause problems, here again you need to LEARN this. It is a little different language but it is not impossible.
The problems arrive when someone else tells your computer what to do and you don't know about it(virus or spy) or you do know (programs you have downloaded) and don't take the time to learn what it did or how to use that program. Programs are just another way we tell our computers what we want them to do.
A computer is a machine.
Email is a program. This program can be on you machine Outlook, Outlook express or Windows Mail. Or it can be an internet emial program, Yes the internet has different programs. Yahoo mail, GMail, ect.
World Wide Web is a world where you can visit others homes or business.Internet is the highways you use to get to those places you want to visit.Internet explorer is the toll booth that allows you access to the highways.
A couple of the things we need to consider is what programs we like to use, a few of my go to programs are Micrographx Draw, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher.
The reason I am going over this information with you is I am offering a computer class at my house starting in September. It will be a free class but I will need commitment from people about coming. It will be a 2 week class and you will need to bring a laptop with you. If you are really interested in learning this but don't have a laptop please contact me.
The other thing you need to do is make sure that you laptop is workable. That means you must do maintance. You need to know what programs you have on it. You need to know how to turn the damn thing on. I am not trying to be mean but you have invested alot of money into this machine and you need to learn to use it, not depend on others to do it for you. Let me know if you are interested. The first class will be installing programs and knowing what your comptuer is.
