Scrapbooking!

Got my last issue of Memory Makers in the mail yesterday.
Also heard that CHA had less than 200 vendors, with many of the major manufactures not showing at this show. Thats real scary for the industry. In the past their have been approx 15oo vendors. The consumer show on the 2 days following the industry show was booming.
So we still have scrapbookers, but we have many fewer people to purchase from, scrapbook stores are dropping like flies, (and have been for several years), publications are folding, and now we have the big guys and little guys, not doing much. Look for less and less things to buy. I know we all say we could scrapbook for years without purchasing anything new, but do we want to?
How many of you crossstitched in the past. Remember the Crosstitch store, how little is available today. Look for this in the next few years. What have you heard about the industry?
What are your thoughts in where we are going?
Remember August contest is still on posting to the blog!

  1. I use to do a lot of counted cross stitching untill I started scrapbooking and you are right
about the needlework stores closing. I don't follow the news on scrapbooking but I hope we don't lose all the nice stores and only have Hobby Lobby, Michael's etc. and it's not that they aren't nice but you get a better paper selection at regular scrapbook stores.
