What did you eat today?

I actually tried to post this yesterday and it didn't post. Hope I can remember what I wrote.

What did you eat today?
Were you hungry when you ate?
Did it satisfy you?

Was it nutritional?

Remember you need a balance of carbs, protein and fat.
Have you figured out what propotions work best for you?

Did the items you ate have less than 5 ingredients?

Could your grandmother recognize it as food.

If you wish to loose weight did you have a negative calorie intake?

Procrastination

Do not put off until tomorrow what you can accomplish today.

Me I put it off, tell myself I work better underpressure, besides others disrupt me and make me loose my train of thought. And then it is so hard to get back on task.

You know what, the thoughts of that overwelming task not getting accomplished pulls you down, makes those easier tasks harder and harder.

Do the hard things.

Balance!

Okay, Do you have it or do we need more details?

Eat Food, Mostly Plants, Not too much.

How do you decide what to much is. Do you feel full. Does you brain tell you when to quit or do you figure it out a half hour or hour after you eat?

Do you plan your meals, or do you eat on the fly? Do you watch calories or fat grams or carbs?

How is all of this working for you? Are you at you healthiest weight? Do you move well, feel good?

Can you walk for an hour? Can you run a mile? How many push ups can you do? Do you hike? Bike? Ski?

Do you stretch everyday?
Can you play a game of volleyball, basketball, softball, frisbee, how about 9 holes of golf?

How many hours of televison do you watch, how long do you read, how many hours on the computer?

Balance your life!

Do you Plan?

Do you plan your days, your meals, your life? Or do you just go with the flow?

Planning gives you the opportunity to finish chores, it gives you a way to control your food intake, it allows you to feel a sense of accomplishment.

At our ages it seems like we know what we can do and have the plans in our heads, but by listing your plans, you get less distracted and can finish and still find time for you. That is the most important thing, find time to move each day, time to meditate, time to rest.

With all the paraphernalia we have now a days we have many more opportunities to waste time.

Make sure the way you are spending your time is really benefiting you.

Food 3

Not too much.

Yep don't overeat.

Hunger is not fatal. At least not in the US where food is available on every corner. Mal nutrition can be fatal.

Do you realize that overeating can kill you? I don't mean in the long term by making you fat. But (always a but) but in the short term. Stuffing yourself will make your stomach full, increases how long digestion takes, can make your blood sugars malfunction, (pancreas), overworks you liver (fat), taxes you gall bladder, if its been removed your liver also takes over some of the gall bladders previous chores, makes your brain foggy, and makes your heart work overtime. Puts pressure on lungs and diaphragm.

A good guide is that 8 inch plate, 1/2 vegetables, 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbs.

Use portion sizes. I know it seems so elementary. Check the labels. But we really do have portion distortion. We see super-size everywhere we look.
I don't know how many times recently I have said or heard said, what! that is a portion? nobody would eat that little amount.
But it is what it is, if you eat double or triple that amount, your are eating double or triple the servings. It doesn't matter what your THINK, it is what it is.
You could eat 1/2 of today's normal portions and still be getting more than twice the calories you need to maintain your weight. More than 5 times what you need to be healthy.

Beef

I love beef, how about you. It is concerning me that Japan still will not import our beef, and neither will China who really does not care much about their people.

So what is really wrong with our beef supply that we are not being told.

Food 2

MOSTLY PLANTS!

Preferably fresh, second best frozen. Fill your plates 1/2 full, if you have seconds choose the least starchy plant foods.

Dear Jesus,

Please show me and my friend the path out of the wilderness. Please let us hear your directions and stop us from being lost and following the path circles. Please let us be an example to those that need to go with us and let them follow your lead also. Please touch the enemy with your love and let them hear your direction to do the right thing.
AMEN

Food again

Still researching food and how we got to where we are, in the mean time I kinda left go of what we really need to do.
So starting over with food.

1. EAT FOOD!
You all know that does not mean,
a manufactured food like substance.

How many ingredients does it take to make a cake?
Flour, eggs, fat, water, flavoring(think chocolate or vanilla)

How many ingredients are in that cake mix?

EAT FOOD!

Walking

Going along with your changing your attitude.
It seems like we all want a quick fix to control our minds today.
With all of the anti anxiety, anti depression, mood altering pharmaceuticals, everyone I know seems to be taking something. They are good, don't get me wrong, some of us would not be coping at all without them.
But... there is always a but. Did you know just moving your body will help with many of these symptoms. Thirty minutes a day of walking will help keep your mood even helping to lower your dose of your antidepressant (talk to your physician). Yoga is another great mood enhancer. Getting O2 moving throughout you body keeps your body strong and helps eliminate all those toxins. Drink H2O also. NO not flavored. Drink water. It also helps release those toxins that are destroying us.

Gambler or Investor?

Which are you? Are you investing in your health or taking a chance on how you well you will be in the future?
We all have free health care! It is about taking care of yourself. If you actually listen to what your body is saying, not what you feel it should do, but what it feels, what it needs, what it takes to live, you have your own health care.

Live healthy take care of yourselve, invest in your body. Stop gambling! Learn to research, don't take what one source says is true. Research it from many perspectives. Take heed on who is doing the research that you read and what they are gaining from it.
Use common sense. Change one thing at a time. Survey your body and see how it reacts.

Does it really make sense to put a chemical in your body?

How can you believe fake food is good for you?

Why do we eat food that has no nutrition or fake nutrition and think it will make us satisfied?
Why do we feed it to our children?
As cheap as our food supply is do you really think if it benefits anyone we wouldn't be feeding the world with it?

Today show has Le Whif come on now we smell our cravings.
